but the story in the last one made you go wtf? the good guys were actually the bad guys and kane was an enlightened being who was just trying to save mankind the whole series :P
Or Highlander, two great movies with the premise they were immortals, then the third one throws a curveball that they were really aliens. WTF:P

it is great 2 see a game that was made so long ago come back and be so good and fun to play the single player was so great giving u a choice off what 2 do and how u want 2 do it upgade your units and a never ending story all the way though it.
Something that tapered off with Command and Conquer and just threw in Highlander for another reference of something that started good then the story got too weird :P
Something i don't particularly agree with though, not sure who really went first but certainly C&C has been pumped out alot of times inbetween Starcraft releases
Just from watching previews, it's obviously a clone of Command and Conquer style in unit types and overallgame play, almost identical designs for weapon types and looks/upgrades to the last few C&C games and atleast 1 race that looks very similar to the Alien race from Command and Conquer 3
Taking the best bits from C&C and expanding maybe
and the use of a blue crystal thats harvested for currency just like Tiberium in C&C which also came in the form of the same looking coloured crystals as starcraft 2 uses aswell as a plant like growth
Anyways i will still get it, if nothing more than i love strategy builders and it can't be much worse gameplay wise then the last 2 C&C games that sucked, other than graphically :(

I did pick it up today and have been playing it for a few hours.
Like it in it's the same as Command and Conquer/Warhammer. so easy to get into
There is atleast one mini games like an arcade machine in the 3rd zone that plays a Phonenix type space game.
Graphics are good, sound is pretty good
Inbetween animated cinetography is very good. When you compare it to C&C's live action video sequences
Gameplay is fairly quick
The storyline isn't linear, you have multiple choices in what u want to do next with rewards giving either research towards the Zerg or Proteas research lines.
Also each mission gives points that can be spent in the arious areas to buy upgrades for units and base equipment, and ofcourse unlock new units
k thats the good bits
now the erks. :P
The voice overs are quiet and on the same volume as the sound effects so it's hard to hear them with that constant western style music playing in the background which i might add you can't turn off. I disabled music and still that plays
Various things that are hardly original and taken from other franchises.
the races in general are Warhammer 40K races, just renamed. can't recall if that was intentional back in the day
unit types, gameplay is indentical to C&C
The Zerg race is very similar to the Zorn from C&C , they act very similar but actually the Zerg is more like Warhammer/Starship Troopers with the aliens being insectoids. not to mention the base units and way you build is very much the same as C&C's Zorn, units are more like Warhammer though at the moment.
The following is an exert from Blizzard

ie we took other people's ideas and used them as our own, however it's not jsut the art that is the same :)
couple of minor ones. the third place you unlock is called the Cantina and is a bar - need i say more :) all it's missing is aliens walking around and playing that repetitive music and Hahn solo/Chewbacca :)
one planet is named Moria. um Lord of The Rings anyone. Hell the guy who runs the Armory is your typical Gimli looking Dwarf LOL
Overall still give it 8 of 10 atm, the playability will be there longer than the letdowns that were the last 2 C&C's

I can look past all the things ripped off of other games. I got my copy for $69
They may have cheated on the gameplay and ideas for races, weapons etc. but they spent alot of time on the cutscenes
Alot like WOW, The trailers make the game look epic :P

My copy doesnt let u play online but the single player
is amazing.
There are very good cut scenes, good story and a lot
of choice when it comes to upgrades. I especially like the
research upgrades. lol only got the zerg ones for now
but still is good.
Worth a good look at people, however I'm not sure if its
worth the tag atm, sorry aaron.
